Truecaller, the world’s leading communication identification platform, has achieved two major subscriber milestones, marking a strong step forward in its transformation into a premium digital communication service.
On May 17, 2025, Truecaller officially surpassed 3 million paying subscribers globally, underscoring the company’s success in delivering value-added services through its premium plans. This milestone reflects a consistent upward trend in user conversions and the effectiveness of Truecaller’s evolving subscription model.
In another major development, Truecaller crossed 1 million paid iOS subscribers on May 27, 2025. This marks a significant shift in the company’s iOS adoption, which had previously lagged behind Android in terms of subscription uptake.
To put this into perspective:
As of March 31, 2025, the company had 2.86 million total paid users, including 0.86 million on iOS.
On December 31, 2024, Truecaller had 2.72 million paid subscribers, with 0.82 million iOS users.
The growth in iOS subscribers from March to May 2025 represents a 16% increase, highlighting the success of Truecaller’s iOS optimization efforts.
Truecaller’s surge in subscriptions is closely linked to its introduction of AI-powered tools and recent iOS-specific feature upgrades. These enhancements have turned the app from a simple caller ID utility into a comprehensive identity and communication platform.
Premium users now enjoy a host of advanced features, including:
AI Assistant for smart call handling
Enhanced spam blocking capabilities
Fraud protection and insurance
Live Caller ID (recently launched on iOS)
Family subscription plans with discounts for adding up to four members
These offerings are reshaping how users interact with their communication apps, encouraging more users to opt for premium plans.
Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller, expressed his satisfaction with the steady growth in premium adoption. He noted that Truecaller has significantly improved and simplified its premium offerings over the past few years.
“Our premium users today get many valuable products... We’ve seen promising results from our strategy on iOS, especially after introducing Live Caller ID,” Jhunjhunwala said.
He also emphasized the growing popularity of the Family Plan, which allows users to share a premium subscription with up to four family members at a discounted rate—contributing further to the spike in paid subscribers.
Fredrik Kjell, Chief Operating Officer at Truecaller, reinforced the company’s goal to continue building on these milestones.
“We aim to elevate the subscription experience with more tools and better services. While crossing 3 million paid users is a milestone, our ambition is much higher,” Kjell stated.
He pointed out that premium users generate significantly more revenue per user than free users, and growing this segment is essential for Truecaller’s long-term profitability.
Founded with a mission to create safe and trusted communication, Truecaller (TRUE B) is a global leader in caller ID services and spam call blocking. The platform is widely used across emerging markets, where fraud and unwanted communication are major issues.
With more than 450 million active users worldwide, Truecaller continues to grow its footprint, providing reliable solutions for both individual users and businesses. The company is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm since October 8, 2021.
