Tata Motors is preparing to launch the facelifted Tata Punch on 13 January, bringing a refreshed design, upgraded tech features, and enhanced safety — with an expected starting price of ₹6 lakh.
Tata Motors has released the first official teaser of the upcoming Tata Punch facelift, confirming its launch on 13 January. The micro-SUV, already popular in its segment, has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads.
The facelifted Punch borrows heavily from the Punch EV in terms of styling.
Both the front and rear sections have been redesigned, giving it a more premium and modern appearance.
Slim grille and new LED DRLs
Vertically stacked headlamp cluster reflecting Tata’s latest design language
Larger air-dam
Silver skid plate for a rugged SUV look
Redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels
New “blue” exterior shade
For the first time, Tata Punch is expected to feature a 360-degree camera, visible under the Tata logo in the teaser.
The rear profile gets connected tail lamps with a smoked effect, adding a premium touch.
According to leaked details, the dashboard layout becomes more advanced with:
10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
New two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo
Ventilated front seats
Wireless charging
Features such as automatic climate control, electric sunroof, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay are expected to continue.
The twin-cylinder CNG setup ensures more luggage space, offering 210 litres of boot capacity in Punch iCNG.
Tata Motors is known for prioritising safety, and the facelift is expected to offer:
6 airbags (standard across variants)
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Hill Hold Assist (HHA)
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Blind View Monitor
3-point seatbelts for all passengers
ISOFIX child seat mounts
SOS emergency function
The CNG system also includes gas leak detection, automatically switching the vehicle from CNG to petrol if leakage occurs — alerting the driver.
A micro-switch prevents ignition while refuelling, improving safety further.
The Punch facelift will likely retain its current powertrain lineup:
1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine
86 hp power and 113 Nm torque
Transmission:
5-speed manual
5-speed AMT (petrol variants)
73.4 bhp power
103 Nm torque
Tata may also introduce AMT in the CNG version, similar to the Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG.
20 km/l (manual petrol)
18 km/l (automatic petrol)
27 km/kg (CNG manual)
With an expected price of ₹6 lakh, the new Tata Punch will compete with:
Hyundai Exter
Maruti Fronx
Citroen C3
Maruti Ignis
Nissan Magnite
Renault Kiger
The facelift aims to strengthen Tata’s presence in the growing micro-SUV category.
