Tata Motors has officially commenced production of its much-anticipated all-electric SUV, the Harrier.ev, with the first unit rolling out from the company’s Pune manufacturing facility. Positioned as the brand’s new flagship EV, this milestone marks a major step in Tata’s journey towards electric mobility.
Customer deliveries for the Tata Harrier.ev are scheduled to begin in July 2025. The company started accepting bookings on July 2, shortly after revealing variant-wise pricing on June 27, creating considerable buzz among EV buyers in India.
Tata offers the Harrier.ev in multiple variants, with pricing (ex-showroom) based on battery capacity and drivetrain. Customers can choose between two battery options:
65kWh (RWD)
75kWh (RWD or AWD)
This configuration flexibility allows buyers to select a version based on their desired performance, range, and budget preferences.
In terms of safety, the Harrier.ev has set a new benchmark in its segment. It has earned a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP, achieving a perfect 32/32 score for adult protection and 45/49 for child occupant safety. These are among the highest safety scores recorded in the Indian electric SUV market.
The Harrier.ev comes equipped with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup as standard, producing 238bhp and 315Nm of torque. The more advanced dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, available with the 75kWh battery, generates a robust 313hp and 504Nm, making it one of the most powerful EVs in its category.
Tata Motors has engineered the Harrier.ev to offer excellent driving range:
65kWh RWD: up to 538km
75kWh RWD: up to 627km
75kWh AWD: up to 622km
These figures are based on the MIDC (Modified Indian Driving Cycle) Part 1 + Part 2, offering ample range for both city commuting and long drives.
