Suzuki Motorcycle India has reached a major milestone in the Indian two-wheeler industry by completing the production of 10 million (1 crore) units. The achievement coincides with the company’s 20 years of manufacturing operations in India, highlighting the growth of its Gurugram-based production facility since 2006.
Suzuki Motorcycle India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, began manufacturing two-wheelers in India in 2006. Since then, its Gurugram, Haryana manufacturing plant has become a key part of Suzuki’s global production network.
Over the past two decades, the company has consistently produced scooters and motorcycles for both the domestic and export markets, strengthening its presence in the Indian two-wheeler segment.
Suzuki achieved the 10 million production milestone in two major phases. The first 5 million units were produced over a span of nearly 14 years, a target that was completed in 2020.
Following this, production accelerated significantly, allowing the company to manufacture the next 5 million units in a much shorter period, reflecting increased demand and improved manufacturing efficiency.
The 10 millionth vehicle produced was the Suzuki Access Ride Connect Edition, underlining the strong popularity of Suzuki’s 125cc scooter range in India. The Suzuki Access 125 has played a pivotal role in the brand’s success in the country.
Suzuki Motorcycle India’s production is not limited to the domestic market. The company exports India-made two-wheelers to more than 60 international markets.
Its product portfolio includes:
Scooters and motorcycles
Electric two-wheelers such as the Suzuki e-ACCESS
Flex-fuel compatible motorcycles like the GIXXER SF 250 (E85 compliant)
This demonstrates Suzuki’s growing focus on future-ready mobility solutions.
Suzuki Motorcycle India currently operates a nationwide sales and service network with over 1,200 customer touchpoints across India.
To support rising demand, the company is also setting up a second manufacturing plant at Kharkhoda, Haryana, which will further strengthen production capacity and support long-term growth.
To mark the 10 million production milestone, Suzuki has introduced limited-period customer offers, including:
Zero processing fee and last EMI waiver on select retail finance schemes
Free 10-point vehicle check-up
10% discount on labour charges
Discounts on genuine Suzuki accessories
These benefits are available to both new and existing customers.
The Suzuki Access 125 has been the largest contributor to Suzuki Motorcycle India’s success. The scooter not only helped establish the 125cc scooter segment in India but also gave it a strong identity.
Known as a reliable family scooter, the Access 125 remains Suzuki’s best-selling model in the country.
Currently, Suzuki’s Indian lineup includes:
Scooters: Access, Burgman Street, Avenis
Motorcycles: Gixxer series (150cc and 250cc), V-Strom SX, GSX-8R, V-Strom 800DE, and Hayabusa
