Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch date of its next performance-focused smartphone lineup, the REDMI Turbo 5 series. The new devices will debut in China on January 29, with sales starting the same day.
The launch event will also introduce REDMI Turbo 5 Max, REDMI Buds 8 Pro, and the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition, making it a major multi-product showcase for the brand.
The biggest highlight of the event is the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, which Xiaomi positions as a value-for-money powerhouse aimed at users who want flagship-level performance without a premium price tag.
Lu Weibing, head of Xiaomi’s smartphone division, stated that the Turbo 5 Max will be:
“the top pick in the 2.5K Yuan (around Rs 33,000) range for 2026”.
This suggests Xiaomi is targeting aggressive pricing while offering top-tier hardware.
For the first time, Xiaomi is shipping a smartphone with a 9000mAh battery, setting a new benchmark for endurance in its lineup.
100W fast charging with PPS support
27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to act as a power bank
Xiaomi claims this battery and charging combination can rival devices equipped with 10,000mAh batteries, significantly reducing battery anxiety for heavy users.
Powering the REDMI Turbo 5 Max is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, manufactured using TSMC’s N3E process.
1× Cortex-X925 core at 3.73GHz
3× Cortex-X4 cores at 3.30GHz
4× Cortex-A720 cores at 2.40GHz

This setup is designed to deliver high-end gaming performance, faster multitasking, and improved power efficiency.
