Ranveer Singh’s spy-action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ has shaken the global box office. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has crossed the ₹1000-crore mark in only 21 days, becoming the first Indian film of 2025 to achieve this milestone — despite carrying an A (Adult) certificate.
The year 2025 has opened with a massive blockbuster that has rewritten box-office expectations. Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ has officially crossed ₹1000 crore worldwide, marking a monumental achievement for Indian cinema.
What makes this success even more remarkable is that the film holds an A-certificate, typically considered restrictive for family audiences — yet ‘Dhurandhar’ proved every assumption wrong.
Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film has now entered the prestigious ₹1000-crore club, becoming India’s 9th film overall, and the first of 2025 to achieve the feat.
‘Dhurandhar’ achieved the ₹1000-crore mark in only 21 days, making it the second-fastest Bollywood film to reach the milestone.
In India alone, the film collected ₹648.50 crore, while international markets — particularly North America — contributed significantly thanks to strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewings.
The elite ₹1000-crore club began with ‘Baahubali 2’ in 2017, followed by global sensations like ‘Dangal’, which crossed ₹2000 crore worldwide.
‘Dhurandhar’ now stands proudly alongside giants such as:
RRR
KGF 2
Jawan
Pathaan
Kalki 2898 AD
Crossing ₹1006.7 crore in just 22 days, the film proves that when the content is powerful, certification barriers cannot hold back box-office success.
While Ranveer Singh leads the film, the powerhouse lineup featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan has played a major role in attracting audiences.
The film’s popularity has grown so rapidly that the makers have already announced its sequel — ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
Considering the massive fan craze, the sequel ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
Meanwhile, the first part continues to dominate cinemas, and trade analysts believe the film’s collections are likely to rise even further in the coming days.
