Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi and Bhubaneswar on October 25 to inaugurate a garment manufacturing facility, witness an Air Force display and open RBI infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh and Odisha on Sunday, October 25, to attend three major events involving manufacturing, defence aviation and financial technology infrastructure.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), he will inaugurate a new garment manufacturing facility operated by Arvind Limited in Varanasi, attend the Indian Air Force Day Aerial Display-2026 at Namo Ghat and inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar.
The programme highlights initiatives aimed at strengthening industrial development, showcasing India's military aviation capabilities and improving the technological resilience of the country's financial system.
The Prime Minister's programme includes the following engagements:
Around 11:00 AM: Inauguration of Arvind Limited's garment manufacturing facility in Varanasi.
Around 1:00 PM: Attendance at the Indian Air Force Day Aerial Display-2026 at Namo Ghat as the Chief Guest.
Around 4:45 PM: Inauguration of the RBI's Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar, followed by an address to the gathering.
During his visit to Varanasi, PM Modi will inaugurate a new garment manufacturing facility operated by Arvind Limited. The project is expected to contribute to the development of India's textile and apparel manufacturing industry while supporting economic activity in the region.
The facility will use modern manufacturing practices and is expected to generate employment opportunities, particularly for women. Its connection with a company serving international customers could also help link garments produced in Varanasi with global markets.
The project reflects efforts to attract investment, expand manufacturing capacity and create more employment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
By strengthening regional production capabilities, the facility could support the state's textile ecosystem and provide opportunities for local workers. The emphasis on women's employment also aligns with broader efforts to encourage greater participation of women in industrial and economic activities.
The Prime Minister will attend the Indian Air Force Day Aerial Display-2026 at Namo Ghat in Varanasi. The event will commemorate the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force under the theme “Wings over Ganges.”
The programme will showcase aircraft, aerobatic performances and coordinated flying demonstrations, highlighting the service's operational capabilities and aviation expertise.
The aerial display is expected to feature several aircraft, including:
Tejas light combat aircraft
Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand
Su-30MKI fighter aircraft
Rafale fighter aircraft
Transport aircraft
Aircraft from the Indian Navy and Indian Army will also participate, demonstrating coordination among India's armed forces.
The Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and Sarang Helicopter Display Team will perform precision flying displays, showcasing their coordination, manoeuvrability and flying skills.
After completing his engagements in Varanasi, PM Modi will travel to Bhubaneswar to inaugurate the RBI's newly established Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute.
The data centre infrastructure has been designed to provide secure, resilient, scalable and future-ready computing capabilities for the central bank and the wider financial sector.
According to the official release, four advanced data centres will host mission-critical payment and settlement systems, along with other important initiatives.
The facility has received Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, a recognised classification for data centre infrastructure resilience.
This certification places the facility in the highest tier of the institute's classification system. The infrastructure is expected to support the reliability and efficiency of digital financial services while strengthening the technological foundations of India's increasingly digital economy.
Secure and resilient systems are particularly important for financial infrastructure that supports payments, settlements and other essential banking operations.
Alongside the data centre, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the RBI's Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar.
The institute will provide a dedicated platform for training, research and capacity building in cybersecurity and enterprise technology. Its programmes will focus on developing expertise in areas relevant to the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector.
Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing, will form part of its focus areas, alongside other technologies relevant to financial-sector security.
The institute is expected to help strengthen professional capabilities and support efforts to address evolving cybersecurity challenges in a technology-driven financial environment.
Conclusion
PM Modi's October 25 visit to Varanasi and Bhubaneswar will bring together initiatives spanning manufacturing, military aviation and financial technology. The garment facility is expected to support industrial growth and employment, while the Air Force display will showcase India's aviation capabilities. The RBI's new data centre and cybersecurity institute are aimed at strengthening the resilience and technological capacity of India's financial ecosystem.
