Physis Capital Looking to Invest in Startups

Venture capital fund Physis Capital will close at least $115 million from investors for the first time in the next four months, achieving its $50 million year target and capitalizing on promising start-ups in October this year, said a top official.

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), a CXO-led angel investment platform, announced that its fund Physis Capital plans to invest in start-ups that have been considering financing Pre Series A to Series B capital.

The fund, which aims to build a portfolio of 15-20 startups with a minimum investment of $2 million, recently received approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of India (Sebi).

Physis Capital also invests in companies in the IPV portfolio. Up to 50% of the fund size is deployed to start-ups in the IPV portfolio. According to Mittal, many family offices along with large investors have shown interest in Physis Capital.

The first milestone to come is to secure a closing price of around $10 to $15 million. Physis Capital is looking at profitable investment opportunities and some investors have already committed.
