After Vijender Singh and Mary Kom, Lovlina bring another medal for India in boxing. Lovlina is also the first woman to achieve this after Mary Kom. Lovlina secured the bronze medal after losing to the world number one Busanas Surmeleni of Turkey in the decisive semi-final and scored 5-0.

Lovllina started well in the first round but later dropped out of the match against the world number one. The first round was won by Busenaz. In the second round, the Turkish player took the lead. Finally, she won a medal in the boxing ring and became the pride of India. This is the third medal India has won at the Olympics after Mirabai Chanu and P.V. Sindhu. Again, after Mirabai Chanu and P.V. Sindhu, Lovlina proved that women are the strongest and can beat anybody and can do anything if they wish. In sequence, the medal came with the power of women.
