Motorola has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming smartphone, the Motorola Edge 60s, which is set to debut in China on May 8, 2025. This release will coincide with the unveiling of other devices in the Motorola Edge 60 series and the much-anticipated Motorola Razr 60 foldable smartphones. Following the global introduction of the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro in select markets, the new Edge 60s is expected to carry forward the same design language with updated hardware and features.
According to Motorola's post on Weibo, the official launch event is scheduled for May 8. The Edge 60s will feature IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means it will offer high resistance to both dust and water—an ideal choice for durability-conscious users.
The smartphone is also said to incorporate AI-powered features, further aligning it with the brand’s strategy to integrate artificial intelligence across its device portfolio. From intelligent camera enhancements to battery optimization, AI will be a key aspect of the Edge 60s experience.
Design-wise, the Motorola Edge 60s will maintain a sleek and premium appearance, staying true to the aesthetics of the existing Edge 60 series. It will sport a curved-edge display with ultra-slim bezels, a centrally placed punch-hole selfie camera, and a raised rectangular rear camera module.
The volume rocker and power button are positioned on the right edge, while the bottom frame houses the USB Type-C port, SIM tray, and speaker grille.
Motorola will offer the Edge 60s in three stylish colors:
Glacier Mint
Misty Iris
Polar Rose
These shades are expected to appeal to a wide range of users with varying style preferences.
The Motorola Edge 60s will likely feature a 6.7-inch curved pOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth and vibrant viewing experience. This makes the device ideal for gaming, multimedia, and general smartphone use.
In terms of photography, the Edge 60s will be equipped with a dual rear camera setup, including:
A 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS)
A 13MP ultrawide lens
For selfie enthusiasts, the device will feature a 32MP front camera, promising detailed and sharp images.
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 60s is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, which is built for efficient multitasking and smooth everyday performance.
The device will be available in two RAM and storage configurations:
12GB RAM + 256GB storage
12GB RAM + 512GB storage
On the battery front, users can expect a long-lasting experience with a 5,500mAh battery, supported by:
68W wired fast charging
15W wireless charging
These features ensure the phone is ready for heavy usage with minimal downtime.
The Motorola Edge 60s is expected to weigh approximately 190 grams and measure around 8.2mm in thickness, making it both sleek and comfortable to hold.
Alongside the Edge 60s, Motorola will also introduce:
Motorola Edge 60
Motorola Edge 60 Pro
Motorola Razr 60
Motorola Razr 60 Ultra
This diversified lineup will cater to users looking for both traditional and foldable smartphone experiences.
