The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie have officially announced the film’s theatrical release date. Starring Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal, the much-awaited gangster drama will bring the cult Prime Video series to cinemas in 2026.
The release date of the highly anticipated Mirzapur: The Movie has finally been revealed. Following the massive success of Prime Video’s three-season Mirzapur series, the makers decided to expand the franchise with a full-length feature film.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, the film is set to hit theatres on September 4, 2026.
Sharing the official announcement, the makers wrote:
"प..फ..ब..भ..मirzapur The Movie ka swagat karne ke liye taiyyar ho jayein #MirzapurTheMovie coming to a cinema near you on September 4, 2026 (sic)."
The announcement quickly grabbed attention across social media platforms.
Soon after the release date reveal, fans flooded the comment section with excitement. Many expressed their happiness over the return of Munna Tripathi, popularly known as Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyendu Sharma.
One fan commented:
"Munna Bhaiya is back (sic)."
Another wrote:

The makers have completed the film’s shoot, and it is currently in the post-production stage. Earlier this year, Ali Fazal shared an update on social media regarding the progress of the film.
In December 2025, the actor posted a group picture from the sets and wrote:
"The OG fam! Is back.. wrapping up our song shoot in style.. #MTheFilm #Mirzapur @excelmovies (sic)."
The update further fuelled excitement among fans awaiting the franchise’s big-screen debut.
