Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 Pro in India, marking the return of its iconic GT lineup to the country. Priced at ₹3 crore and ₹3.65 crore (ex-showroom, introductory), respectively, these performance coupes bring cutting-edge tech, formidable powertrains, and aggressive design enhancements. Both variants come equipped with the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system and the renowned 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, though the Pro packs more performance upgrades.
Deliveries for the standard GT 63 are slated to begin in December 2025, while the GT 63 Pro will be available starting January 2026.
Both AMG GT models are powered by the same twin-turbo V8 but with different power outputs.
GT 63: 577 bhp and 800 Nm
GT 63 Pro: 604 bhp and 850 Nm
Each model comes with a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring seamless gear shifts. The GT 63 accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, while the Pro shaves that down to 3.1 seconds. In terms of top speed:
GT 63: 315 km/h
GT 63 Pro: 317 km/h
The Pro variant also hits 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, compared to 11.4 seconds for the standard model.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 is larger and more sculpted than its predecessor. It is:
182 mm longer
45 mm wider
66 mm taller
Features a 70 mm longer wheelbase
Signature AMG styling elements include the Panamericana grille, sleek LED headlamps, and wraparound tail lamps, giving the car a dominant road presence.
The GT 63 Pro offers visual and functional upgrades over the standard model:
Carbon-fibre rear wing and side sills
A revised front bumper for improved airflow
Reduces front lift by 30 kg
Increases rear downforce by 15%
This model also features lightweight alloy wheels and larger, performance-oriented brakes to handle the added power.
Available paint finishes include Sun Yellow Solid, Selenite Grey Metallic, High-Tech Silver, Obsidian Black, and Spectral Blue.
The biggest interior change in the GT 63 series is the introduction of 2+2 seating, a shift from the previous-gen GT, which only accommodated two passengers. This makes the car more practical for occasional rear-seat usage.
Borrowing design cues from the Mercedes-AMG SL 55, the cabin features:
A 3-spoke AMG steering wheel
Sport seats with ample side support
Nappa leather upholstery
The cabin is packed with luxury and tech:
12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen with the latest MBUX system
Dual-zone climate control
Ambient lighting
Optional Burmester 3D surround sound system
These additions make the GT 63 not just a performance machine, but a well-equipped grand tourer as well.
The AMG GT 63 and GT 63 Pro will take on high-performance luxury coupes in India. Its closest competitor is the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, which is priced at ₹2.84 crore (ex-showroom). However, with more power and a roomier interior, the Mercedes-AMG GT twins offer a compelling alternative.
With its blend of brutal performance, luxury interiors, and enhanced practicality, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 Pro are positioned to capture the attention of India’s elite car buyers. Whether it’s the 2+2 layout, aggressive design, or the Pro variant’s aerodynamic refinements, Mercedes has ensured that these models make a strong statement in the high-performance coupe market.
