Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially commenced exports of its mid-size SUV, the Victoris, marking another major step in the company’s global growth journey. The model, part of Maruti Suzuki’s Arena portfolio in India, will be retailed in international markets under the name ‘Across’.
The first export shipment, consisting of over 450 units, has been dispatched from Mundra and Pipavav ports, signalling the start of large-scale overseas deliveries.
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Victoris will be exported to more than 100 countries and regions, with Latin America, the Middle East and Africa identified as priority markets.
Designed and developed entirely in India, the Victoris reflects Maruti Suzuki’s long-standing ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy. The SUV underlines the automaker’s strategy of creating globally competitive products from its Indian manufacturing base.
Speaking on the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted the company’s strong export performance.
In calendar year 2025, Maruti Suzuki exported more than 3.9 lakh vehicles
The company retained its position as India’s largest passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year
Between CY2020 and CY2025, India’s overall passenger vehicle exports grew 1.43 times
During the same period, Maruti Suzuki’s exports expanded by 4.67 times
The Victoris is expected to further strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s global product portfolio and gain wide acceptance across international markets.
CY2025 also marked a significant phase for Maruti Suzuki’s overseas operations, as the company re-entered the European market. This move was driven by the start of exports of its first battery electric vehicle, the e Vitara, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility.
The Victoris has established strong safety credentials, securing a 5-star rating in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. This achievement highlights Maruti Suzuki’s renewed emphasis on vehicle safety standards.
The Made-in-India SUV was showcased to a global audience at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, ahead of the commencement of exports, reinforcing its international positioning.
Launched in India in September 2025, the Victoris has witnessed strong demand, particularly among younger buyers. The SUV is positioned with the "Got It All" brand philosophy and has quickly gained traction in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
