Maruti Suzuki has officially launched its latest compact SUV, the Victoris, as the flagship model for its Arena dealership network. Positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the Victoris comes with hybrid and CNG options, Level 2 ADAS, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, setting new benchmarks in safety and innovation. Bookings have already begun at a token amount of ₹11,000.
The Victoris enters the midsize SUV segment as Maruti Suzuki’s second offering after the Grand Vitara (2023). It is available in six trims — LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O). The SUV will compete against strong rivals including Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate.
One of the biggest highlights of the Victoris launch is its performance in crash safety tests. The SUV has secured a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP (BNCAP), becoming only the second Maruti Suzuki model after the Dzire to achieve this recognition.
Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 31.66/32 (15.66/16 in frontal crash, 16/16 in side crash)
Child Occupant Protection (COP): 43/49 (24/24 in dynamic testing, 12/12 in CRS installation, 7/13 in vehicle assessment)
Pole Impact Test: Rated “Good” for protection
This makes the Victoris one of the safest cars in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, outperforming BNCAP-tested Baleno, Dzire, and Tata Nexon in overall crash test scores.
Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Victoris with a comprehensive suite of standard safety features:
Six airbags
ABS with EBD
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and traction control
Hill hold assist and brake assist
Pedestrian protection systems
Seat belt pretensioners with load limiters
ISOFIX child seat mounts
Seat belt reminders for all occupants
Premium trims further include a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 ADAS — a first for Maruti Suzuki in India.
The Victoris shares its powertrain options with the Grand Vitara, offering petrol, hybrid, and CNG variants.
1.5L 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol – 103 hp
1.5L 3-cylinder strong hybrid petrol – 116 hp
