Maruti Suzuki India has announced a landmark move in the country’s electric mobility landscape with the introduction of a unified EV charging ecosystem and a dedicated digital platform. This initiative, revealed on December 2, 2025, marks a pivotal development in India’s EV transition, as the company also formalised collaborations with 13 major Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and aggregators to streamline and interconnect charging infrastructure nationwide.
At the heart of Maruti Suzuki’s new EV strategy lies its digital platform—‘e for me’, which has been designed to simplify the charging experience for electric vehicle users across the country. The platform aims to unify diverse charging networks, making EV charging as intuitive as mobile recharging.
Establish a nationwide, highly accessible EV charging framework
Provide a common interface for both public and home charging
Improve EV confidence among first-time buyers
Strengthen long-distance EV travel feasibility across India
Accessible through a mobile application and mirrored directly on the infotainment system of the e Vitara, the platform ensures a uniform user experience across Maruti Suzuki’s private network and partner-operated charging stations.
Locate, book, pay for, and use EV charging points nationwide
Access both public chargers and smart home chargers
Use the ‘Tap N Charge’ card at Maruti Suzuki dealerships and home chargers
Remotely control and manage power usage on home chargers
Seamless payment support via UPI and Maruti Suzuki Money (powered by Razorpay)
Maruti Suzuki currently operates 2000+ exclusive EV charging points across more than 1,100 cities through its expansive dealership network. When combined with the infrastructure of partner CPOs, the ecosystem already stands as one of the broadest public charging networks in India.
With the new strategic partnerships in place, Maruti Suzuki aims to support over 1,00,000 public charging points by 2030, a step that could significantly accelerate the adoption of EVs across Indian roads.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, described the launch as a "historic step", reiterating the company’s commitment to electric mobility in alignment with Suzuki’s global EV roadmap. He highlighted Maruti Suzuki’s growing readiness, supported by:
2,000+ charging points
A strong collaboration network
A target of bringing over 1 lakh chargers to the public
The company has also built a 1.5 lakh-strong EV-ready workforce and operates 1500+ EV-enabled service workshops nationwide to ensure reliable customer service.
To validate the real-world usability and resilience of its EV network, Maruti Suzuki flagged off the nationwide ‘e drive’. The initiative features four e Vitaras, each travelling toward one of India’s geographical extremes:
Srinagar (North)
Kanyakumari (South)
Bhuj (West)
Dibrugarh (East)
This project aims to showcase uninterrupted EV operation across diverse terrains, climates, and charging conditions.
The Made-in-India, globally benchmarked e VITARA Born EV is central to Maruti Suzuki’s electrification vision. Designed for tough conditions and long-distance travel, it has undergone over 1 crore test kilometres, including extreme weather trials ranging from -30°C to 60°C, demonstrating high durability.
ARAI-certified range of 543 km on a single charge
Built on a robust global EV architecture
Optimised for Indian roads and climatic conditions
With a widespread dealer network, a growing web of charging partners and a customer-first digital experience, Maruti Suzuki aims to make EV adoption smoother for Indian buyers.
The EV charging platform will be accessible through:
Apple App Store
Google Play Store
Users will also have the ability to explore the nationwide charging map even before purchasing the e Vitara, offering transparency and convenience for potential EV customers.
