MakeMyTrip and Emoha Introduce Special Travel Packages for Seniors

MakeMyTrip, India’s largest online travel platform, has announced a new partnership with Emoha, a brand specialising in senior care solutions. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to make travel more accessible and worry-free for senior citizens by launching exclusive holiday packages starting at ₹76,999 for six days.

The initiative focuses on creating experiences that address the unique needs of senior travellers, ensuring they enjoy their travels without concerns related to health, mobility, or safety.

Destinations Covered Under the New Senior Travel Packages

As part of this offering, the packages currently cover eight popular destinations, both domestic and international. These include:

  • Kerala

  • Sri Lanka

  • Dubai

  • Egypt

  • Phu Quoc

  • Maldives

  • Europe

Each location has been chosen to offer enriching cultural, natural, and leisure experiences suitable for senior travellers.

The travel bundles also include senior-friendly hotels, pre-travel health checks, round-the-clock emergency coordination, and even a nurse on board, ensuring constant support throughout the journey.

Why MakeMyTrip Is Targeting India’s Growing Senior Tourism Market

MakeMyTrip highlighted that travellers aged 60 and above already contribute nearly 9% of all holiday package bookings on its platform. The company has also observed strong interest in group tours (around 20%) and long-haul international trips (about 13%) among seniors.

Despite this growing interest, the company noted that many older adults continue to hesitate due to concerns regarding mobility limitations, health risks, and safety during travel. The travel giant aims to bridge this gap with thoughtfully designed senior-centric packages.

MakeMyTrip’s Perspective on Senior Travel Needs

Speaking about the initiative, Jasmeet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer (Holidays & Experiences) at MakeMyTrip, said that travel is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and seniors deserve to experience it without fear or constraints. He added that health worries often prevent older adults from travelling, and these packages aim to provide them freedom, confidence, and peace of mind—with reassurance for their families as well.

Senior-Friendly Features: Comfort, Accessibility & Safety

The newly launched packages stand out because of their detailed focus on senior travellers’ comfort and requirements. MakeMyTrip and Emoha have worked together to ensure that every aspect of the trip meets elder-friendly standards.

Specialised Accommodations

The accommodations included are verified for features such as:

  • Grab bars in bathrooms

  • Non-slip flooring

  • Wheelchair-accessible rooms and entryways

  • Availability of emergency medical assistance

These details make daily movement and hotel stays safer and more comfortable for older travellers.

Mobility Support and Comfortable Itineraries

To further enhance accessibility, the packages provide mobility aids like walkers and wheelchairs whenever needed.

The itineraries are designed with:

  • Relaxed start times

  • Plenty of rest periods

  • A balanced pace to prevent fatigue

  • Meals customized to dietary preferences or restrictions

Families also receive regular daily updates from Emoha trip coordinators, ensuring transparency and real-time communication throughout the journey.

Emoha’s Take on the Collaboration

Emoha believes the collaboration reflects its mission of helping seniors live enriched and fulfilling lives. According to Saumyajit Roy, CEO & Co-founder of Emoha, every stage of life should be exceptional, and their goal is to support seniors with care akin to that of loved ones.

He added that many seniors dream of travelling but hesitate due to safety and comfort concerns. The partnership with MakeMyTrip enables them to create #EldersFirst travel experiences that are safe, joyful, and memorable for Indian seniors.
