Mahindra is set to refresh its popular XUV700 SUV with a new avatar called the Mahindra XUV 7XO. The updated model will officially launch on January 5, 2026, while pre-bookings will open from December 15, 2025, offering buyers a chance to reserve the SUV with a booking amount of Rs 21,000.
Mahindra XUV700 is among the most popular SUVs in India, and it is now preparing for a major update. The Indian automaker has already teased the upcoming refreshed version, which will be known as the Mahindra XUV 7XO.
Mahindra has confirmed that the XUV 7XO will be launched on January 5, 2026, while pre-bookings will begin on December 15, 2025, at 12 noon. Interested customers can pre-book the SUV by paying Rs 21,000.
During the booking process, buyers will be able to select their preferred dealership, fuel type, and transmission option. Bookings can be made both at Mahindra dealerships and through the company’s official website.
Mahindra recently launched the XEV 9S, a seven-seater electric SUV that carries forward the design language of the XUV700. The upcoming XUV 7XO is expected to borrow several styling cues from the XEV 9S.
On the outside, the SUV is likely to feature:
A newly designed front grille
Slim LED projector headlamps
A reworked front bumper for a more muscular and modern look
New alloy wheel designs
Updated tail-lamp styling
Overall, the XUV 7XO is expected to look bolder and more premium than the current XUV700.
Inside the cabin, Mahindra is reportedly planning one of the most significant upgrades yet. The SUV may get a new triple-screen dashboard layout, similar to the setup seen in the XEV 9S.
Expected interior upgrades include:
Harman Kardon premium audio system
Enhanced ambient lighting
Auto-dimming IRVM
Improved upholstery and cabin materials
These upgrades are expected to significantly enhance the overall in-cabin experience.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is expected to retain the same powertrain options as the current XUV700:
2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine
2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine
Both engines are likely to be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Select diesel variants may also continue to offer an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option.
Mahindra has officially confirmed that the global debut of the XUV 7XO will take place on January 5, 2026. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
Once launched, the Mahindra XUV 7XO will compete against popular SUVs such as:
MG Hector
Tata Safari
Tata Harrier
Hyundai Alcazar
