French beauty major L’Oréal has announced a major expansion of its global technology operations with the launch of its first Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad, India. Backed by an investment of over ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) by 2030, the new facility will focus on artificial intelligence, data science, and advanced digital technologies, positioning India at the core of L’Oréal’s global digital transformation strategy.
L’Oréal on Tuesday officially announced the establishment of its first-ever Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global technology journey. The Hyderabad facility will function as a dedicated Beauty Tech hub, supporting L’Oréal’s worldwide operations through cutting-edge digital innovation.
The announcement came after discussions at the World Economic Forum 2026, where Nicolas Hieronimus, Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal, met senior officials from the Government of Telangana, including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar.
L’Oréal confirmed that it will invest more than ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) in the Hyderabad Tech Hub by 2030, making it one of the company’s largest technology investments in India to date.
The new hub is expected to create approximately 2,000 high-skilled jobs, including roles for:
AI specialists
Data scientists
Digital and software engineers
This aligns with India’s growing role as a global technology and innovation talent hub.
According to L’Oréal, the Hyderabad Tech Hub will serve as a global centre of excellence for developing and scaling AI-powered beauty technologies.
The hub will focus on:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Data science and analytics
Generative AI
Agent-based AI systems
Advanced digital platforms supporting beauty tech solutions
The technologies developed in Hyderabad will be designed for global deployment across L’Oréal’s international markets.
The Hyderabad Tech Hub will be fully integrated into L’Oréal’s global network of technology centres, which currently spans multiple countries, including:
France
United States
China
Singapore
Spain
Poland
Canada
Brazil
Mexico
This integration reinforces India’s strategic importance in L’Oréal’s long-term global technology roadmap.
The project has been positioned as a flagship initiative under the 2026 India–France Year of Innovation, aimed at deepening technology collaboration between the two countries.
L’Oréal said the hub will focus on:
Building AI-led digital solutions from India
Strengthening cross-border technology collaboration
Supporting local talent development while delivering global impact
Welcoming the project, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the investment aligns closely with the state’s long-term development vision.
"This partnership directly supports our ‘Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision’ by creating 2,000 high-value jobs and positioning our state as a global epicentre for AI and digital excellence," he said.
L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said the decision builds on the company’s three-decade presence in India and leverages the country’s strong technology and engineering ecosystem.
"We believe that the future of beauty lies at the intersection of science, technology and creativity, so Hyderabad will now sit at the heart of our AI and digital ambition. This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech Hub reinforces our commitment to India’s growth and our leading role in the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation," he added.
State IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the project highlights Telangana’s efforts to attract global technology investments and co-create next-generation digital solutions with multinational companies.
Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, said the facility complements the state’s broader push to expand AI adoption across both government and industry, including the recently launched Telangana AI Hub.
With the Hyderabad Tech Hub, L’Oréal aims to:
Deepen India’s role in its global digital transformation
Scale AI innovation across beauty, science and technology
Strengthen India’s position within its long-term global innovation strategy
The investment further reinforces Hyderabad’s reputation as one of India’s leading destinations for AI, data science, and global capability centres (GCCs).
