News Synopsis

Expanding its adventure motorcycle portfolio in India, KTM has officially launched the all-new 390 Enduro R at an ex-showroom price of ₹3,36,500. Interestingly, this makes the bike ₹30,000 more affordable than the KTM 390 Adventure, giving off-road enthusiasts a slightly more cost-effective entry point into KTM's ADV family.

India-Spec Model with Tweaked Suspension

Unlike its international counterpart, the version launched in India is an India-specific variant that shares the same suspension setup as the KTM 390 Adventure. This includes:

  • Front suspension travel: 200mm

  • Rear suspension travel: 205mm

“KTM has confirmed that the global-spec model with 230mm suspension travel will be launched in India soon,” the company stated.

This signals that more off-road-capable variants are likely on their way for serious adventure riders seeking longer travel and more rugged terrain handling.

KTM 390 Weight, Design & Homologation: A Mixed Bag

The 390 Enduro R has been engineered with minimal body panels, making it almost 6 kg lighter than the KTM 390 Adventure. However, due to mandatory Indian homologation requirements—like the inclusion of a saree guard and engine crash guards—the kerb weight stands at 177 kg, which is still heavier than the international version.

Wheels, Tyres & Suspension Hardware

Designed for Serious Off-Roaders

The motorcycle is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tube-type spoke wheels, wrapped in aggressive Mitas Enduro Trail tyres ideal for mixed terrain.

Handling suspension duties are:

  • Fully adjustable WP Apex upside-down front forks

  • Preload and rebound-adjustable WP Apex monoshock at the rear

Braking Performance

Braking is managed via disc brakes on both ends, and riders can switch off ABS on both wheels, providing better control during trail or enduro rides.

KTM 390 Dimensions & Ergonomics

Key Measurements

  • Seat height: 860mm

  • Ground clearance: 253mm

These numbers highlight the bike’s off-road readiness and make it suitable for taller riders or seasoned adventurers.

KTM 390 Engine Specs & Performance

Powering the 390 Enduro R is a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering:

  • 45.3 bhp

  • 39 Nm of torque

The inclusion of a larger 48-tooth rear sprocket improves low-end performance, ideal for technical terrains and steep inclines.

KTM 390 Features & Technology

Despite its rugged DNA, the Enduro R doesn’t skimp on tech. It comes equipped with:

  • Full-LED lighting system

  • 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity

  • Two riding modes

  • Traction control system

These features offer a perfect blend of adventure practicality and modern-day convenience.
