KTM has expanded its popular Duke motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the all-new KTM 160 Duke, marking the Austrian brand’s entry into the highly competitive 160cc performance bike segment. Positioned as the new entry point into KTM’s streetfighter family, the 160 Duke replaces the discontinued 125 Duke, offering more power, better features, and sharper styling.
At the heart of the 160 Duke lies a 164.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a class-leading 19bhp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. This makes it the most powerful motorcycle in its category, catering to young riders seeking thrilling performance without stepping into the higher displacement range.
KTM has engineered this bike to retain its ‘Ready to Race’ DNA, ensuring top-end performance and responsiveness, while maintaining efficiency for daily riding needs.
The motorcycle is built on KTM’s signature split trellis frame paired with a precision-engineered swingarm. This setup offers excellent agility, stability, and cornering control. Weight reduction has been achieved through bionic light wheels, a lighter hugger tube, and specially cast subframes, improving both handling and the power-to-weight ratio.
For enhanced rigidity, the 160 Duke uses an optimised WP Apex USD front fork with a hollow axle. The cast pillion step holder and sleek grab rail have been designed to blend functionality with sporty aesthetics.
The KTM 160 Duke is equipped with WP USD front forks offering 138mm travel and a WP monoshock at the rear with 161mm travel. This combination promises class-leading ride comfort and precise handling, making it suitable for both city commutes and spirited weekend rides.
Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS and off-road ABS mode for added confidence during varied riding conditions.
KTM has loaded the 160 Duke with a 5-inch LCD display that offers smartphone connectivity. Riders can access call and music controls, turn-by-turn navigation, and microswitch controls through the display. The bike also supports the KTM Connect app, adding to its tech-savvy appeal for younger audiences.
With a 1,357mm wheelbase and aggressive streetfighter styling, the 160 Duke delivers a sporty yet practical package. The design language follows KTM’s sharp and angular aesthetics, ensuring it stands out on the road.
