Kia India has achieved a major sales milestone with its popular subcompact SUV, the Kia Sonet, crossing the 5 lakh units sales mark in the Indian market. Since its launch, the Sonet has emerged as one of Kia’s strongest performers, contributing significantly to both domestic sales and global exports.
Kia announced that its subcompact SUV, the Kia Sonet, has surpassed cumulative sales of 5 lakh units in the Indian market. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the model since its launch.
Kia India Chief Sales Officer Sahn Haeck Park said, "Crossing the 5 lakh sales milestone for Sonet is a moment of pride for all of us. Every Sonet sold represents a customer who trusted Kia, and this milestone is a strong testament to the faith Indian buyers have shown in us."
The Kia Sonet is manufactured in India under Kia’s ‘Make in India, For the World’ vision. The model caters to a wide customer base, including first-time car buyers and young families, while staying aligned with evolving preferences in the subcompact SUV segment.

Internationally, the SUV has recorded over 100,000 units in export sales across nearly 70 global markets, including the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, and Asia-Pacific regions.
Kia India stated that the Sonet has crossed 1 lakh units in annual sales for two consecutive years. The company attributes this strong performance to multiple powertrain and transmission options, along with rising demand for higher variants equipped with connected and safety features.
