Kia has expanded its Carens Clavis (ICE) lineup in India with the launch of a new HTE(EX) variant. Positioned as a value-focused trim, the new variant aims to offer enhanced comfort and essential premium features at a more accessible price point, based on direct customer feedback and evolving buyer preferences.
Kia has officially introduced the HTE(EX) variant of the Carens Clavis in the Indian market, further strengthening its internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio. The new trim has been developed keeping in mind customers who want more comfort and must-have features at a competitive price.
According to Kia, the HTE(EX) variant has been designed by closely analysing customer feedback and changing market needs.
The new HTE(EX) trim is offered at the following ex-showroom prices:
G1.5 Petrol: ₹12.54 lakh
G1.5 Turbo-Petrol: ₹13.41 lakh
D1.5 Diesel: ₹14.52 lakh
With these prices, the HTE(EX) variant delivers strong value across multiple engine options.
Kia has made the HTE(EX) variant available with all ICE engine options, including:
G1.5 Petrol
G1.5 Turbo-Petrol
D1.5 Diesel
The variant is offered exclusively in a 7-seater layout, making it a practical and appealing choice for family car buyers.
One of the biggest highlights of the HTE(EX) trim is the introduction of a sunroof with the G1.5 petrol engine for the first time. Kia calls it the Skylight Electric Sunroof, which enhances the cabin’s openness and premium feel.
This feature was not previously available with this engine option.
Commenting on the launch, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Kia India, said the introduction of the HTE(EX) trim is aligned with customer preferences. He stated that Kia has added features that customers have been demanding for a long time and that offering these features across all powertrains makes the Carens Clavis more attractive in the family car segment.
The new HTE(EX) variant is positioned above the existing HTE(O) trim and comes with several notable upgrades, including:
Fully automatic temperature control
LED DRLs and position lamps
LED cabin lighting
Driver-side auto up-down power window
These additions address features commonly sought by buyers in this segment.
With the HTE(EX) trim, Kia aims to make premium features accessible to a wider customer base without a significant price increase. Improved comfort, added convenience, and a more modern appearance enhance the overall ownership experience.
