The Ministry of Railways has introduced an all-in-one SuperApp named ‘SwaRail,’ developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). The purpose of this app is to consolidate all Indian Railways-related services that were previously spread across multiple apps, making it easier for travelers to access all train services in one place.
Reserved Ticket Bookings: The app allows users to book reserved tickets for trains, making the process more seamless and accessible.
Unreserved Ticket and Platform Ticket Bookings: Travelers can also book unreserved tickets and platform tickets, further adding to the convenience of the platform.
Parcel and Freight Enquiries: Users can inquire about parcels and freight services, making it a comprehensive solution for cargo-related services.
Train and PNR Status Enquiries: The app provides real-time updates on train statuses and Passenger Name Record (PNR) status, ensuring users are well-informed throughout their journey.
Food Orders on Trains: Travelers can place food orders directly through the app for an enhanced onboard experience.
Rail Madad for Complaint Management: The SuperApp integrates Rail Madad for users to lodge complaints and seek assistance efficiently.
Single Sign-On: The app features a Single Sign-On (SSO) system, allowing users to access all Indian Railways services with a single login. The same credentials can be used across various existing Indian Railways apps such as IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App.
All-in-One App: Currently, users must download separate apps for different services like booking reserved and unreserved tickets, checking train movements, and schedules. With the SwaRail SuperApp, all of these services are now available under one unified platform.
Easy Onboarding/Sign-Up: The app’s sign-up process has been streamlined, making it easier for new users to register with minimal data input. Existing users of RailConnect or UTS can log in directly with their existing credentials, while new users can quickly create an account and begin using the app.
Currently, the SwaRail SuperApp is in its beta testing phase. It is available for download from both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store for users who have access to the beta version. However, as of now, the testing slots are full. Indian Railways is working on expanding the testing phase and expects to make the app available to the public soon.
While the app is still undergoing beta testing, users will be able to download the SwaRail SuperApp from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store once it is officially released. Existing users of the RailConnect or UTS Mobile App can log in with their current credentials, while new users can register with minimal data requirements.
The SwaRail SuperApp stands out by integrating multiple Indian Railways services into one easy-to-use platform. It eliminates the need for users to juggle between different apps, enhancing convenience and streamlining the entire train travel process. From booking tickets to checking train status, managing complaints, and even ordering food on the train, the app is designed to meet all travel-related needs.
Conclusion
The SwaRail SuperApp by Indian Railways is set to revolutionize the way people plan and experience train travel in India. By consolidating multiple services into one unified platform, it promises to offer a seamless and convenient experience for all rail passengers.
