Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has expanded its two-wheeler lineup with the launch of two new motorcycles — the sporty CB 125 Hornet and the commuter-friendly Shine 100 DX. These additions are aimed at enhancing the company’s position in the 125cc premium commuter and sporty bike segment.
Bookings for both the CB 125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX will begin on August 1, 2025. While deliveries for the Shine 100 DX will commence in a phased manner, the pricing for the CB 125 Hornet is expected to be disclosed closer to its market launch.
The CB 125 Hornet marks Honda’s foray into the growing sporty 125cc category in India — a space dominated by rivals like the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R.
The CB 125 Hornet comes with a bold and aggressive design. At the front, it features a sharp LED headlamp that adds to its sporty appeal. It becomes the first bike in its class to feature upside-down (USD) front forks, offering enhanced handling and a more premium feel.
Other key styling elements include:
Split-seat setup
Fully digital 4.2-inch TFT display
Smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync app
Full-LED lighting package
USB charging port for added convenience
The bike will be offered in four color variants, further boosting its appeal among younger and style-focused buyers.
Alongside the Hornet, Honda has introduced a more feature-rich version of its Shine 100 commuter bike — the Shine 100 DX. Aimed at young, value-conscious commuters, this motorcycle offers better styling and functionality than the standard Shine 100.
The Shine 100 DX features:
A more muscular fuel tank
Sporty new graphics for a fresh look
Chrome accents on the headlamp cowl and exhaust heat shield
A new LCD instrument cluster for modern-day riders
The updated design offers a bulkier and more premium stance than its predecessor, making it a compelling option in the budget commuter segment.
The Shine 100 DX continues to use a 98.98cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing:
7.28 bhp at 7,500 rpm
8.04 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm
It is paired with a 4-speed gearbox, tuned for fuel efficiency and smooth city riding. Built on a strong steel frame, it comes equipped with:
Telescopic front forks
5-step adjustable twin rear shock absorbers
17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres for improved durability
The Shine 100 DX will be offered in four eye-catching colors:
Pearl Ingenous Black
Imperial Red Metallic
Athletic Blue Metallic
Geny Gray Metallic
With the CB 125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX, Honda aims to target both ends of the commuter spectrum — the sporty 125cc buyers and the budget-conscious commuter segment. While the Hornet caters to those seeking performance and tech-rich features, the Shine 100 DX is designed for daily utility with a premium twist.
