Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the Vida V2 electric scooters in India, marking its entry into the growing electric vehicle (EV) market. The Vida V2 series includes three variants – V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro – and comes with competitive pricing, targeting the sub-1-lakh segment of the EV market.

Price and Variants

The Hero Vida V2 electric scooters are available in three variants, catering to different customer needs and preferences:

  • V2 Lite: Priced at ₹96,000 (ex-showroom), this is the most affordable variant of the Vida V2.

  • V2 Plus: The mid-range variant, priced at ₹1,15,000 (ex-showroom), offering an enhanced set of features and performance.

  • V2 Pro: The top-end model, priced at ₹1,35,000 (ex-showroom), offering the best specifications and features in the series.

All prices are inclusive of government subsidies. Additionally, the scooters are available in two new color options – Matte Nexus Blue-Grey and Glossy Sports Red – to appeal to a variety of tastes.

Battery, Range, and Speed

The Vida V2 electric scooters are equipped with advanced, removable batteries, offering different configurations depending on the variant:

  • V2 Lite: Comes with a 2.2 kWh battery, providing a range of 64 km and a top speed of 69 km/h.

  • V2 Plus: Equipped with a 3.44 kWh battery, the V2 Plus offers a 100 km range and a top speed of 85 km/h.

  • V2 Pro: The high-performance variant features a 3.94 kWh battery with a range of 114 km and a top speed of 90 km/h.

The batteries are IP67-rated for durability and are designed to withstand water and dust exposure. They can charge up to 80% in just six hours. All variants are powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, with the V2 Pro accelerating from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, showcasing impressive performance.

Advanced Features and Convenience

Hero MotoCorp has incorporated a range of advanced features to enhance the riding experience of the Vida V2 scooters. Key features across all models include:

  • 7-inch TFT Touchscreen: For navigation, telematics, and real-time battery updates.

  • Keyless Entry: Convenient entry without the need for traditional keys.

  • Cruise Control: Ensures a relaxed riding experience on highways.

  • Follow-Me-Home Lights: Provides better visibility when approaching or leaving the scooter.

  • Regenerative Braking System: Recharges the battery during deceleration, improving overall efficiency.

In terms of ride modes, the V2 Pro offers four distinct modes – Eco, Ride, Sport, and Custom – allowing riders to adjust their experience based on preference. The scooters are also equipped with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock for improved comfort. In terms of braking, they feature alloy wheels, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes.

Warranty and After-Sales Service

Hero MotoCorp provides a five-year or 50,000 km warranty for the Vida V2 scooter and a three-year or 30,000 km battery warranty. The scooters are also backed by Hero's extensive fast-charging network, which covers 250 cities across India, ensuring that users can charge their scooters conveniently.

Competition in the EV Market

With the Vida V2 electric scooters, Hero enters a competitive market with established players such as Ola S1, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ather 450X. These competitors offer similar electric mobility solutions, but the Vida V2's pricing and features are designed to make it a strong contender in the Indian EV market.
