Out of these, over 8.7 lakh cases have already been disposed of through legal assistance provided by defense counsel teams. One of the most significant outcomes of the program has been its support for under trial prisoners.
More than 2.76 lakh under trial prisoners have received legal representation under the scheme. As a result, approximately 59,630 individuals were released during the financial year 2025 to 2026 up to December 2025.

However, they also emphasize that continued investment in legal infrastructure and digital services will be necessary to meet the growing demand for legal support.
