India’s popular quick-commerce platform Blinkit has launched the Bharat Yatra Card, a prepaid RuPay-powered National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) designed to simplify payments for metro and bus travel across multiple Indian cities. The card is now being delivered to homes within 10 minutes in select cities.
The Bharat Yatra Card is an NCMC-enabled prepaid smart card, developed in partnership with Pine Labs. It acts as a unified payment solution for public transport systems that support NCMC, allowing users to tap and pay for metro rides and bus journeys without needing separate cards for different cities.
The card supports contactless, offline transactions and is purpose-built for seamless transit payments across participating transport networks.
The card is priced at ₹50, making it an affordable option for daily and occasional commuters. It does not require KYC, and users can activate it quickly through a simple registration process using a mobile number.

Bengaluru
Mumbai
Chennai
Ahmedabad
Blinkit plans to expand availability as more transit systems across India adopt the NCMC framework.
Users can register the card by scanning a QR code via the dedicated BharatYatra app and linking it to their mobile number.
The card can be recharged instantly using UPI through the app, the Bharat Connect platform, or at metro stations and bus depots.
Up to ₹2,000 can be loaded on the card for uninterrupted tap-and-go usage, even without internet connectivity. The maximum balance is capped at ₹2,000.
A single card works across NCMC-enabled metro and bus services in participating cities, eliminating the need to carry multiple transport cards.
It currently supports:
All Delhi and NCR Metro lines
Mumbai Metro and BEST bus services
Bengaluru Namma Metro
Chennai Metro and MTC bus services
Ahmedabad and Kanpur Metro
Bus services in Guwahati, Haryana, Jammu, Srinagar, Himachal Pradesh, and Aurangabad
The network will continue to expand as more cities integrate NCMC.

The Bharat Yatra Card solves a common problem for people who frequently travel between cities by removing the need for separate city-specific transport cards. It promotes cashless and contactless commuting, reduces friction in public transport payments, and offers convenience at a low cost.
With its zero-KYC setup and wide usability, the card supports the government’s vision of unified mobility solutions under the NCMC framework, encouraging greater adoption of public transport across India.
At present, the Bharat Yatra Card is available in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahmedabad, with Blinkit managing last-mile delivery in these regions. Wider rollout is expected as more transport operators come on board with NCMC integration.
