Ola Electric is ready to kickstart deliveries of its highly anticipated electric motorcycle, the Roadster X, by the end of this week. The update was confirmed by Bhavish Aggarwal, the Founder and Chairman & Managing Director of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd, through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Aggarwal shared his excitement, noting that customers would soon get to experience the Roadster X firsthand. This announcement marks a significant milestone for Ola Electric as it pushes forward in the competitive EV motorcycle segment in India.
The Roadster X is part of Ola’s larger Roadster series, which was first introduced in August last year. The lineup includes the Roadster, Roadster X, and the performance-oriented Roadster Pro. With this series, Ola Electric officially entered the electric motorcycle market, signaling its intent to diversify beyond scooters and become a major player in two-wheeler electrification.
Aggarwal’s announcement also comes as a timely reminder of Ola’s ambitious roadmap for electric mobility in India.
The Roadster X series is available in multiple variants to cater to different user needs and budgets:
Roadster X (Base Model): Rs 74,999
Roadster X+ 4.5kWh: Rs 1,04,999
Roadster X+ 9.1kWh: Rs 1,54,999
The top-end Roadster X+ 9.1kWh variant stands out with a claimed range of 501 km on a single charge, thanks to its high-capacity 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack. This offers an excellent balance of affordability and performance, especially for riders seeking long-distance capabilities.
Initially, Ola had indicated that deliveries for its Roadster electric motorcycles would begin in the fourth quarter of FY25, with the Roadster Pro expected to start rolling out in Q4 FY26.
However, the early delivery announcement for the Roadster X reflects the company’s confidence in its production readiness and growing focus on capturing a share of India’s expanding EV two-wheeler market.
Despite being Ola's entry-level electric motorcycle, the Roadster X is loaded with advanced features, making it a competitive offering in its price bracket:
4.3-inch LCD Display with connectivity support
Three Ride Modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport
Regenerative Braking for energy efficiency
Cruise Control for effortless highway rides
Reverse Mode for convenience in tight spaces
Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Geo-fencing, Time-fencing
Tow and Theft Alerts for enhanced security
Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates to keep features up-to-date
These features demonstrate Ola’s commitment to blending smart technology with functional motorcycle design.
On the mechanical front, the Roadster X includes:
17-inch Alloy Wheels
Telescopic Front Forks and Dual Rear Springs
Front Disc Brake and Rear Drum Brake setup
Single-channel ABS
Brake-by-Wire System for improved braking precision
This setup ensures a balanced ride while maintaining safety and comfort for daily commuters and enthusiasts alike.
Ola Electric’s Roadster X launch is a significant development in India’s electric two-wheeler segment. With an appealing price point, high range, and tech-loaded features, the Roadster X is set to challenge both ICE (internal combustion engine) bikes and premium EV brands in the commuter segment.
By delivering ahead of schedule, Ola is positioning itself as a strong contender in India's EV revolution.
With deliveries now imminent, the Ola Roadster X is expected to attract considerable attention from urban riders and early EV adopters. Bhavish Aggarwal’s vision of transforming Indian mobility is gaining momentum, and the Roadster X could become a game-changer for budget-conscious yet performance-seeking riders.
Ola’s aggressive pricing, smart features, and early rollout signal its readiness to lead India’s next wave of electric mobility innovation.
