Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced the Silver Anniversary Edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit 2022 (BTS-22), a major technology event for the state government, will be held at an international level. The summit will be held from November 16-18.
The Chief Minister said that he received various proposals on technology, policies, infrastructure, ecosystems, etc, most of which were positively accepted by the government and would be implemented at the earliest.
With the slogan "Tech for Next Generation," the event will be held physically on the grounds of Bangalore Palace, with BTS pre-events being held for the first time abroad, including in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan.
Minister of Electronics and IT/BT C N Ashwath Narayan also attended the meeting. He said the government intends to bring the benefits of developments to remote villages by promoting Web 3.0 and Metaverse technology and drafting appropriate policies.
According to industry experts, the demand for human resources in the IT domain can increase up to 55 lakh in the next few years from the current 25 lakh and the government would plan accordingly.
