The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will celebrate the outstanding contributions of cricket legends Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj at the BCCI Naman Awards ceremony scheduled to take place on March 15 in New Delhi. The annual event recognises exceptional performances in international, domestic, and age-group cricket during the 2024–25 season while also paying tribute to legends who have made lasting contributions to Indian cricket.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India will host its prestigious BCCI Naman Awards ceremony on March 15 in New Delhi to celebrate the achievements of players, officials, and teams across Indian cricket.
The annual awards recognise exceptional performances during the 2024–25 cricket season, covering categories such as international cricket, domestic tournaments, junior competitions, and individual achievements.
This year’s ceremony will be particularly special as three iconic figures of Indian cricket—Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj—will be honoured with prestigious lifetime achievement awards for their immense contributions to the sport.
Former India captain Rahul Dravid will receive the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honours bestowed by the BCCI.
Dravid is widely regarded as one of the greatest batters in cricket history. Over the course of his illustrious international career, he scored more than 24,000 runs across formats, establishing himself as a pillar of India’s batting lineup.
Nicknamed “The Wall” for his resilience at the crease, Dravid played several memorable innings in Test cricket and limited-overs formats, contributing significantly to India’s success during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
After retiring from international cricket, Dravid continued to shape Indian cricket through coaching and mentorship roles. As head coach, he guided India national cricket team to victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, further cementing his legacy as one of the most influential figures in the sport.
Former all-rounder Roger Binny will also receive the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
Binny played a pivotal role in India’s historic triumph at the 1983 Cricket World Cup, where he emerged as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker.
The victory marked a turning point in Indian cricket, inspiring generations of players and fans across the country.
Following his playing career, Binny remained closely involved in the sport. He served in various roles, including coach, selector, and administrator, contributing to the development of cricket in India.
From 2022 to 2025, Binny also served as president of the BCCI, further strengthening the administration and governance of Indian cricket.
Legendary cricketer Mithali Raj will be honoured with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women, recognising her extraordinary contributions to women’s cricket.
Raj holds the record as the highest run-scorer in women’s One Day Internationals (ODIs), amassing 7,805 runs at an impressive average of 50.68.
During her career spanning more than two decades, she captained the India women's national cricket team and led them to two ICC Women’s World Cup finals, helping elevate the profile of women’s cricket in India.
Her leadership and consistency with the bat played a major role in bringing women’s cricket into the mainstream and inspiring a new generation of female athletes.
In addition to honouring individual achievements, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will also felicitate all five Indian teams that have won ICC trophies.
This special recognition celebrates India’s remarkable success in international cricket across different formats and age groups.
The gesture highlights a period of sustained excellence in Indian cricket, with teams achieving success at the highest levels of global competition.
The BCCI Naman Awards also recognise standout performers from domestic and junior cricket competitions across India.
