Aprilia is all set to launch the highly anticipated Tuono 457 in India in February 2025, following its global debut at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. The Tuono 457 is based on the RS 457, which was unveiled in the previous year. According to media invites, the official launch is slated for mid-February, with the motorcycle possibly making its first public appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The bike was recently listed on Aprilia India’s official website, and several dealerships are unofficially accepting bookings for the Tuono 457.
Once launched, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will go head-to-head with competitors like the Kawasaki Z400 in the naked streetfighter segment. Additionally, it will offer a more premium alternative to popular bikes such as the Hero Mavrick 440, Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450, and the Harley-Davidson X440. Based on market expectations, the price of the Tuono 457 is anticipated to range between Rs 3.75 lakh and Rs 4.00 lakh (ex-showroom).
Unlike the larger Tuono RS 660, which features a full fairing, the Tuono 457 adopts a more streetfighter-inspired design, omitting the quarter-fairing around the tank and headlamp. Despite this design choice, the bike retains an aggressive and muscular presence. It features extended tank shrouds, which add to its menacing stance, alongside a twin LED headlamp unit that resembles the eyes of a giant mantis.
Visual highlights include split seats, a floating tail section, and an underbelly exhaust. The Tuono 457 will be available in two eye-catching color options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
Under the skin, the Tuono 457 shares its mechanical heart with the RS 457, featuring a 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces a potent 46.9 bhp and 43.5 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. As an optional upgrade, a bi-directional quickshifter will be available for smooth gear transitions.
The Tuono 457 retains the aluminium frame of the RS 457 and comes equipped with preload-adjustable USD front forks and a rear monoshock. The braking system comprises disc brakes at both ends, ensuring reliable stopping power. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tires.
In terms of technology, the Tuono 457 stands out with a 5-inch TFT digital instrument panel featuring Bluetooth connectivity. To enhance the rider’s experience, the bike is equipped with ride-by-wire throttle, offering three customizable ride modes and traction control. Completing the tech package are LED headlights and taillights for improved visibility and style.
Conclusion
With its aggressive design, impressive features, and strong performance, the Aprilia Tuono 457 is all set to make a significant impact on the Indian motorcycle market in February 2025. It will compete with both mainstream and premium offerings, catering to riders looking for a high-performance, streetfighter-style bike.
