Apple is set to strengthen its retail presence in India with the opening of its sixth Apple Store, located in Borivali, Mumbai, on February 26. The move comes as Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms record quarterly revenue and strong double-digit growth in India, underlining the country’s growing importance in Apple’s global strategy.
US tech giant Apple on Friday unveiled the barricade for Apple Borivali, its sixth retail store in India and second in Mumbai. The announcement highlights Apple’s continued expansion in a market where its production and exports have reached new highs.
The store will officially open its doors to customers at 1 pm on February 26, further deepening Apple’s direct-to-consumer retail footprint in the country.
According to Apple, the Borivali store features the distinctive peacock-inspired visual identity first introduced at:
Apple Hebbal, Bengaluru (September 2025)
Apple Koregaon Park, Pune (September 2025)
Apple Noida (recent opening)
The design reflects Apple’s emphasis on creativity, detail, and a sense of arrival, tailored to the Indian market.
“Apple Borivali will serve a growing community of startups and businesses - offering a welcoming space where customers can explore Apple products, unlock creativity, and get expert support from Apple's store team members,” the company said.
At Apple Borivali, customers will be able to:
Explore and purchase Apple’s latest products
Experience new software and hardware features
Receive expert support from Specialists, Creatives, Geniuses, and dedicated Business teams
According to Apple, customers can also participate in Today at Apple sessions, which are:
Free
Held daily in-store
Led by Apple Creatives
These sessions are designed to help users learn, create, and get more out of their Apple devices, reinforcing Apple’s focus on education and creativity-driven retail.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently highlighted India’s growing importance during the company’s earnings call.
“We continued to gain momentum in emerging markets, which includes India, where we saw strong double-digit revenue growth,” said Cook.
He also emphasised the performance of Apple’s global retail operations:
“In retail, we continue to bring a magical experience to our customers all around the world, and we were thrilled to have our best-ever results in retail during the quarter. We were excited to open our fifth store in India in December and have plans to open another store in Mumbai soon,” Cook said.
Apple had a particularly strong year in India in 2025, driven by robust iPhone demand.
According to CyberMedia Research (CMR):
iPhone shipments grew 24 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in 2025 compared to 2024
iPhone performance outpaced iPads, which recorded 2 per cent growth
The standout performer was the iPhone 16 series, which:
Accounted for 57 per cent of total iPhone shipments
Became Apple’s most successful smartphone lineup of the year
Emerged as the best-performing iPhone model of 2025, according to the report
Apple’s expanding retail network, strong shipment growth, and record revenue underline India’s emergence as a key growth market for the company. With increasing local manufacturing, rising exports, and a rapidly growing premium smartphone customer base, Apple continues to scale both its retail and production ecosystem in the country.
The opening of Apple Borivali marks another milestone in this long-term India-focused strategy.
