Apple has officially launched the AirTag Generation 2 in India, bringing major upgrades such as a longer Bluetooth range, a louder built-in speaker, and a new second-generation Ultra Wideband chip for more accurate Precision Finding.
Apple has officially introduced the AirTag Generation 2 in the Indian market. The new version is more powerful than its predecessor, featuring extended Bluetooth range, a louder speaker, and a new Ultra Wideband chip. According to Apple, users can now locate their belongings faster and more easily than before.
The tracker is designed for people who frequently misplace essentials such as keys, wallets, or bags. With improved Precision Finding and a new sound chime, locating hidden or misplaced items has become significantly easier.
The new AirTag is powered by a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. This is the same chip used in the iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch Series 11.
Thanks to this upgraded chip, Precision Finding is now more accurate, allowing users to locate lost items from up to 50 percent greater distance compared to the previous generation.
Apple AirTag Generation 2 comes with an upgraded Bluetooth chip that enables item tracking from a longer range. Additionally, the built-in speaker is 50 percent louder than before.
According to Apple, users can now hear the AirTag’s sound from double the previous distance, making it easier to find misplaced items indoors or in crowded environments.
For the first time, Apple has added Precision Finding support via Apple Watch. Users can now locate their AirTag directly using:
Apple Watch Series 9 or newer
Apple Watch Ultra 2 or newer
This feature allows users to find their items without needing an iPhone.
The new AirTag fully supports Apple’s Share Item Location feature. With this, users can temporarily and securely share the location of a lost item with trusted third parties, such as airlines.
This feature is especially useful for tracking delayed or lost luggage during travel.
To use Apple AirTag Generation 2, users must meet the following requirements:
iPhone running iOS 26 or later
iPad running iPadOS 26 or later
Users must also have an Apple Account and ensure that the Find My feature is enabled in iCloud.
The new AirTag is currently available for order on apple.com and the Apple Store app. It will soon be available at Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Resellers across India.
