Adobe has announced a new wave of updates to Photoshop that harness the power of artificial intelligence to simplify complex editing workflows. On Tuesday, the creative software giant unveiled several AI-powered features, including a groundbreaking Harmonize tool, a Generative Upscale feature, and improvements to the popular Remove tool.
These additions aim to elevate user experience by reducing manual effort and enhancing image realism—all in just a few clicks.
Adobe’s latest standout addition, Harmonize, is designed to address one of the most challenging aspects of image manipulation—realistic blending of added objects.
As Adobe explains, “Dubbed Harmonize, the new tool is currently available in beta across Photoshop on desktop and web, as well as on the iOS app (early access). Powered by the Adobe Firefly Image model, the tool can blend an object being added to an existing composition. It uses AI to analyse the surrounding context and adjusts the colour, lighting, shadows, and visual tone to create cohesive composites.”
Photoshop has long been regarded as a top-tier photo editing platform, but its steep learning curve has often intimidated casual users. With this AI-driven upgrade, Adobe is not just innovating—it’s making high-level editing more accessible.
According to Adobe, “This AI tool will eliminate the need to make manual adjustments to blend an object, which can often be time-consuming.”

As per Adobe, “Available in beta, the tool can enhance images up to 8-megapixels without distorting the clarity. The company says it was one of the most requested features from the Photoshop community.”

Adobe is also updating its Remove tool, which helps users eliminate unwanted elements from photos. The upgraded version is powered by the latest Adobe Firefly Image model, offering significantly better precision.
“The company says it cleans up images with higher precision. It is available on Photoshop desktop and web, and the tool can now generate realistic content to fill the gaps after eliminating unwanted elements.”
This means users no longer need to worry about distracting background objects or photobombers—the tool fills in the removed area intelligently with seamless realism.
Alongside the AI enhancements, Adobe is adding two major non-AI upgrades to Photoshop. First is the Projects feature (in beta for desktop), which allows users to share entire design collections at once. This solves a major productivity issue, especially for collaborative teams working on large-scale projects.
Photoshop is also introducing a Gen AI Model Picker, a dropdown menu that allows users to switch between Firefly Image models (Firefly Image 1 and Firefly Image 3) while using AI features like Generative Fill and Generative Expand.
