News Synopsis

Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson is no longer on Blue Origin's next spaceflight passenger list. The spaceflight company owned by Jeff Bezos announced in a tweet that Davidson will not participate in his 20th flight into space.

Blue Origin gave no reason for Davidson to leave the flight. Blue Origin also announced that the flight will be postponed from the original launch date of March 23 to March 29.

The company said in a statement, “ Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission.” It also said that the company will soon announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.

Blue Origin announced earlier this month that Davidson would fly into space with five other passengers. A Blue Origin spokesman said Davidson was an "honorary guest" while other passengers were paying for their seats.

Blue Origin had previously flown Star Trek actor William Shatner into space in October 2021 and Jeff Bezos, the founder of the company, in July 2021.

During an appearance on the late-night show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in November, actor Tom Hanks also said that he was offered a ticket for the space flight but he turned it down because of the price, which according to him, “cost 28 million bucks or something like that.”
