Ninjacart sets up Agri seed fund of $25 Million

News Synopsis

Fresh food supply chain Ninjacart has launched a $ 25 million Agri Seed Fund to help emerging start-ups in the agricultural sector. Based in Bangalore, the company will make seed investments in startups, entrepreneurs and technology innovators who will showcase their unique, sustainable and designed solutions. Ninjacart also invests in teams that have technical skills but may not have solutions or ideas at this time.

It will also lend access to the extensive technology platform, data pools as well as growth-stage advisory support of the agri-platform. It is also aiming to invest in technology in its own operations. Ninjacart has also received investments from Flipkart India and Walmart. Both the companies have also invested an undisclosed amount in Ninjacart earlier to this investment.

The CEO and co-founder of Ninjacart, Thirukumaran Nagarajan has said, “By assisting the next generation of entrepreneurs and small businesses it is our endeavour to grow together, building a future that is sustainable and built on a strong foundation of productive collaboration.” He also said that it would allow startups to access valuable data, supply chain infrastructure, technology, farmers and existing partners.
