News Synopsis

Italy has fined Amazon $1.3 billion, abusing the company of market dominance. As for now, it is being considered as one of the biggest penalties that are imposed on the US company. Italy’s watchdog has accused Amazon of dominating the Italian market in favour of adopting its own services. It also said that the company prevented the third-party sellers from associating with offers that were not managed by FBA.

Italy has previously fined Amazon and Apple for flouting the competition regulations. Amazon has said that they do not agree with the Italian regulator’s decision and would appeal against it.
