Facebook is a widely used social media platform that has an effect on everyone who uses it. Recently Facebook has released a report where it claims to have a reduction in hate speech by 50%. It is a problem that Facebook has faced for quite a time and as the complaints keep on increasing about the hate speech Facebook has taken strict steps to stop this. In a report released by Facebook on October 18, 2021, it claimed to have a decline in hate speech content by 50%. 

Facebook has also clarified the allegation of using inadequate technology to remove hate speech. The report said that Facebook does not want to see the negative content on their platform and neither do their users and this is why they are trying their hard to remove as much negative content as they can. The report also mentioned the measures that they use to remove the content that can be considered as hate speech. It said that they need to be confident before considering anything as hate speech. A high threshold is used to remove the hate content automatically. Another technology is used to detect the hate or negative content even before the users report it. It also tells about the ratio of how much content is reported by the users and how much the system has found automatically.
