News Synopsis

DJI's mini drones will be launched with a pro version. Still, it's just under the weight of the very important 249g. This means you don't have to register your drone with most authorities. DJI Mini 3 Pro is a more premium drone than its predecessor

The new DJI Mini 3 Pro comes with a new 1/1.3-inch sensor with a bright f/1.7 aperture. This should work better with all types of light. The sensor is a 48MP unit and can shoot in full resolution in 48MP or 12MP mode. The lens itself is the same width, 24mm as the Mini 2, but narrower than the Air 2S' 20mm lens.

When it comes to video, the DJI Mini 3 Pro is better than its predecessor. You can record up to 60 frames/sec 4K video and up to 30 frames/sec 4K HDR video. In addition to the regular color profile, there is also a flatter D-Cinelike. However, it's an 8-bit video, not 10-bit like the Air 2S.

Flight time has increased slightly from 31 minutes to 34 minutes on the Mini 2 using a standard intelligent flight battery. The optional Intelligent Flight Battery Plus comes with a Fly More Combo that extends flight time to 47 minutes, but the cell requires a faster DJI 30W charger, and the drone past the no-regulation 249g weight.
