Spotify is Testing New Podcast Discovery Feature

Music streaming platform, Spotify is adding vertical scrolling to podcasts on its platform, similar to a newsfeed or Reels on Instagram. According to reports, the new interface will feature 60 seconds of video clips from various podcasts and uses technology that was developed by Podz.

The feature will have a machine learning model that has been trained for more than 100,000 hours of audio to make it capable of suggesting selected audio clips to individual users.

Spotify has reportedly allowed some Android users to test a new voice-focused car mode after removing Car View last year. The car mode doesn't look like a simplified car view before it, but it's similar to Spotify's usual interface.

The latest version of Car Mode does have a tab that gives users access to their recently played music and the search screen has been replaced by a voice control feature.

The interface for controlling what's currently playing has a layout similar to Spotify's regular mode, allowing you to use muscle memory (not much of the visual distraction on the default screen).
