Health Ministry of India rolls out New Guidelines for International Travellers
News Synopsis
The Health Ministry of India has rolled out a set of revised guidelines for international travellers, which will come into effect from February 14. The new guidelines require all international travellers who tested negative for Covid-19 to self monitor their health for the next 14 days of arrival. The new guidelines also removed the 7-day quarantine rule for all international travellers.
Other than that the Health Ministry has also removed the mandatory 12-hour RT-PCR report policy. The travellers can simply show their fully vaccinated certificates. The Health Ministry also removed ‘at-risk’ markings for certain countries with high Omicron Covid-19 cases.
Starting from February 14, only 2% of the total passengers will need to undergo random post-arrival testing at the airport on arrival. The government of India suspended international passenger flights earlier. However, a few international flights are still operational under the bubble arrangement with certain countries.
