Emami Founders Ready to Step Down from Executive Positions

News Synopsis

The founders of Emami Limited R.S. Agrawal and R.S. Goenka have expressed their desire to step down from their current executive positions while continuing on the Board. The Board unanimously decided to appoint R.S. Goenka as the Non-Executive Chairman and R.S. Agrawal as Chairman Emeritus.

Both the founders will not accept any charges of the company for taking up the new positions in the company. The decision came out during the Board restructuring of the succession planning of the FMCG business of the company.

Sushil K. Goenka is also expected to step down from his position as the Managing Director of Emami Ltd. The company has re-appointed him as a Whole-Time Director of the Company effective from April 1, 2022. Mohan Goenka and Harsha V. Agrawal will be the new Vice Chairman-cum-Whole Time Director and Vice Chairman-cum-Managing Director respectively. 

R.S. Agrawal and R.S. Goenka have said that they are happy to announce the re-designation of Mohan Goenka and Harsha V. Agrawal. Both the executives further said that Mohan Goenka and Harsha V. Agarwal have been at the forefront of running and growing the organisation for more than two decades and their ascension today is the formal recognition of their contribution by our esteemed Board.
